I can't help but think that if that Maruko-Chan audio got made a bit later, it wouldn't be nearly as shocking. It would have still been really tasteless, but an Internet generation used to UA-cam poops would have understood it was just a splice meant to troll people.

... I first saw a flip phone thanks to the Kdrama Playful Kiss (K-ver of the Japanese Manga/Anime Mischievous Kiss) when they were deciding where to go on a honeymoon. At that time I thought Android Touchscreen Smartphones where the best UNTIL I saw that scene. I was 12 to 13 in 2012 then... By 15 or 16, I watched Nana and heard that the song Rose is used as a ringtone in Japanese Flip Phone back then in 2005... Made me want it more... Now as a 23 years old, Samsung Flip reignited that old flame again... But if I have to go modular to abstain from using Android, I'll take a flip phone... Now can someone tell me where I can buy a Japanese Flip Phone that has an Eng setting?

Sakura i love your channel and if you see this i want to beg you something I love the Death Note ost particullary the songs of hideki Taniuchi and this great artist composed and be part of songs of multiple animes but he was sentenced to 10 years of prison for possesion of marijuana (i know its surreal) and he must be free from a couple of years but the industry of course give their back to him but the fact that dont know anything from him its simply breaks my soul, im a musician and for me its very unique, if you listen to him i think you might think it too, my begging is if you can search for him in the japanese internet ? Who knows maybe gives you material for a video! I would love to hear what was of him. If you read it thanks a lot for it and hope you have a great day and love your channel!

At the same time (1999) of i-mode, WAP services were introduced to other phones (it's basically the same thing). I remember accessing it years later via Siemens C35i (released in 2000), but it didn't had GPRS so my service provider counted internet connection time like old phone line, by the minute which was extremely expensive (for a kid). ~2004 I think it was about ~$0.45 at the time and with inflation it would be $0.75 PER MINUTE. Imagine having to pay $2.25 to check the weather and quick look at headlines for a 3 minutes session. The main thing I was always wondering is just how much they had to pay and how much did that mean at that time for their cellphone use. No one I knew used these services because how expensive they were.

Just a few years ago, I switched from a costly smartphone with a plan to a prepay flip phone and ohhhh my god it made a world of difference! My friends and family knew to send photos via Messenger, rather than to my phone since I wouldn't be able to easily see them, and to leave me out of group chats via text (thankfully) and for $50 for the phone itself and about $25 a month after, I had unlimited text and calls, which was all I needed. Now, I do Instacart and other such delivery apps, which require a smartphone or service connected tablet, but I have NEVER gone back from having a prepay phone.

Very important to mention, it's not just Japan being ahead in the phone market, it's more like America was super behind. I'm from Europe and when I moved to the US, talking about old phones (with people older and younger, tech nerds and just users) no one had used those phones to the full potential. Almost no one knew you could install so much on your phone, it wasn't just for calls and text. I used to do a web development for a personal website through my K750i, and when touch screen phones with Android, iOS, Bada and other systems came out, most of my friends were not buying those, since you could do so much more on the old phones than the new ones, not to mention how jank the early ios and android was. But all I hear from the US user is the Sidekick...

If it was within a few years one could have sent a reception report to the station and got confirmation / rejection messages as a reply, it’s a common thing for broadcast and japan is massive for having a DX/QSL/broadcast culture! Only #2 seems fake to me. There are loads of AM radio shutdowns going on all over the world which are quite creepy too!

Why wasn't *The Yellow House* on this list? It's the OG Ju On House! Also, considered to be the most haunted House in Japan! It was located in Nagoya Japan... before, it was demolished in 2015. It sucked. But, there's a rumor out there... that the House is going to be Rebuilt at a Haunted History/Artifacts Museum in Tokyo Japan! The Yellow House... will be constructed inside of a large Warehouse, big enough to fit a house inside. There will be the original artifacts inside of the House as well, but sealed behind glass, and given plaques to give the supposed history of what that object meant to the Curse. The Tokyo Governor is a bit "Reluctant" on giving the Reconstruction the "Greenlight"... but, apparently... it's been Greenlit! They want to have that history revived! Because they knew that the house... was what made Nagoya Famous, while also helping Japan become famous Internationally with their horrifying ghost stories, their Cursed Objects, Cursed Videos, Cursed Poems, Cursed Dreams, Cursed Toys, Cursed Mirrors, Cursed Bridges... and, a whole slew of Demons. I may be an American... but, I just look at Japan, and I love their urban legends and folklore. I wanna go there SOO DAMN BADLY! Not only will I personally eat and shop for technology through Tokyo with my girlfriend... but, we also wanna go throughout the Island... finding the most haunted locations, or Cursed locations! It doesn't matter if it's old and damaged, or if it's been demolished... we will go there, with professional Ghost Hunting Equipment. I will also do extensive research on the areas that we go to. And, remember folks... the best way to make official contact with a Spirit... is to leave an offering. So, leave Incense, or candy, or anything that the people were into that time of day.
